About Hairstory
Hairstory is dedicated to helping people rethink everything about hair in a world where the old rules don’t apply. We are still relatively small today, but growing quickly and we have big ambitions. Our hero product, New Wash, is neither a shampoo nor a conditioner. It both cleans and conditions hair with aloe, essential oils and fatty alcohols, and without using any detergent – the enemy of good hair because it strips hair and scalp of the natural oils your body needs. We sell online and through hairdressers, utilizing a business model that enables the hairdresser to profit from both online and in-salon sales. Our founding partners have founded and/or run: Bumble and bumble, Jurlique and Natura Brazil, and have a combined 50 years of experience running beauty businesses that generate billions in sales. We were founded in 2015, became profitable within 18 months of launching, and have generated ~$25mm in lifetime revenue. Our balance sheet is healthy, and we have no plans to raise more funding. The Role
We are looking for a highly versatile and entrepreneurial person both to contribute broadly and to deliver individual results directly. On one hand, you will report directly to the CEO and gain deep exposure to early-stage company-building across a variety of functions within a fast-growing startup. On the other, you will have direct P&L responsibility and be accountable for driving the key sales engine of the business. This role is designed for someone who plans to run a business one day, and wants to learn from seasoned entrepreneurs/executives in an exciting, fast-paced environment. You will get your hands dirty learning how to drive revenue and operate profitably by managing relationships across the business, both with internal and external partners.
You will:
Drive profitable customer sales growth by:
Managing day to day digital marketing strategies and spend with partner agencies to optimize new customer acquisition and COA
Building and evolving all features and functionality for the website, managing relationships with all third party designers and developers to deliver new projects on time and within budget
Partnering with internal and external content development teams to keep web content fresh and optimize conversion funnels
Build, manage and deliver detailed sales budgets by channel
Plan, track and manage all key projects across the business
Own our company Objectives and Key Results process
Be accountable for delivering key sales and profitability results

This might describe you:
2+ years of experience at a top strategy consulting firm
1+ years experience working in a start-up or growth-stage company
MBA from a top-tier program preferred but not required
Demonstrated external experience in sales, business development, customer discovery, or customer success
Strong project management, organizational and executional skills
Exceptional analytical skills and experience with financial modeling
Good knowledge of all different digital marketing channels
Good knowledge and experience with online marketing tools and best practices
Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
Proven leadership skills
Team player
An effective communicator, who can be clear and concise to any audience, be it internal teams or external vendors
Who you will work with:
This position reports to the CEO.
You will also work closely with our President, the creative team, the sales team and our CFO.
This position will work from the Hairstory Studio in New York City.
