The WayUp Chief of Staff will work closely and directly with the CEO to play a critical role in driving strategic objectives at the company. You’re essentially like an extension to her -- you go to some meetings on her behalf, you prepare decks for the board, the executive team, and the company, you ensure alignment across all functions, and so on.
This person will be crucial to ensure all elements of Operations, Legal, HR, and Finance are operating effectively. You’ll be responsible for ensuring our company is operating under a P&L which you help to create, responsibilities will include (but not be limited to): be responsible for cross-company communications, our liaison to investors, create board decks, prepare for company-wide all hands, and run Executive meetings. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, is someone who is not afraid to roll up their sleeves, understands discretion, and can work with Executive stakeholders.
Responsibilities
P&L Management. You’ll be managing WayUp’s P&L at a high-level.
Operations. You’ll directly oversee Legal, Finance, Operations and HR while working closely with the Executive team at WayUp to ensure each team works like a well oiled machine.
Investor Management. You’ll work closely and communicate with our investor relationships. You’ll create board decks, take notes, and draft communications as needed. You’ll also respond to inbound investor requests, will help write investor updates, and so on.
Organization and Accountability. You’ll organize and run Executive meetings, company-wide all-hands meetings, ensuring company decks are prepared and the appropriate information is disseminated.
Program Management & Strategic Projects. You’ll own special projects each month that will require a strategic vision paired with an analytical mindset. Examples of projects are: assessing pricing models, staying on top of competitive landscape, evaluating new opportunities for acquiring other companies and/or investing in partnerships, and more.
Requirements
Minimum of 5-10 years of full-time work experience.
Banking or Consulting Experience. Making decks comes second-nature to you.
Operations Experience. You understand what a business needs in order to work and run in an effective way. You have experience communicating with key stakeholders while ensuring the day-to-day is remarkable.
VC Experience. You have experience working with Venture Capitalists
Can Do Attitude. You’re not afraid to roll up your sleeves in order to accomplish the task at hand.
Discretion. You understand the importance of credibility through confidentiality, dealing with extremely sensitive matters on a daily basis.
Willingness to work hard. This is in no world a 9-5 job. We could sugarcoat this one, but we won’t. You may be asked to attend some events at night, to join org meetings during the day, to travel to interview clients during the week, and so on.
