Manager, New Business
Why this is a great job
By breaking down the job into 6 month and 12 month expectations, Glossier really gives you a sense of what you’d be signing on for with the role. Plus, it doesn’t hurt that you’d be taking on a lot of responsibility and one of NYC’s newest unicorns.
The nitty gritty
About Glossier
Glossier is a beauty company that lives in NYC, is sold on the internet, and promotes a skincare-first philosophy that celebrates beauty in real life.
Overview
At Glossier Inc., we are building the future beauty company, revolutionizing the industry with our customers as stakeholders. The New Business Team is looking for a creative strategist: someone who thinks differently vs. follows a framework, who can adapt problem-solving skills in a unique way, and who can help prepare Glossier for future growth. This person should be comfortable working in a fast-paced ‘white space’ environment and excited by adapting strategy and problem solving skills in situations where the answer is not obvious. In this role, the Manager, New Business will identify and vet new growth initiatives that align with our future vision, develop plans for how we should execute, and then mobilize teams across the organization to bring these new opportunities to market.
6 Month Expectations
Develop business cases for potential new business lines and international markets. Use the business cases as the foundation for strategic recommendations about new opportunities Glossier should pursue.
Act as the project lead for several growth initiatives (e.g., launching new markets), and work with stakeholders across the organization to bring initiatives to market.
Work with the Executive Director of New Business to build and socialize our two year growth strategy, and work with leaders across the organization to both socialize the plan and translate into execution.
Support the development and management of our 2020 strategic planning process.
12 Month Expectations
Identify and then assess new growth opportunities for the next 3+ years, and work with key leaders to integrate into our growth plans, including but not limited to growth strategy, resulting operating model, and execution roadmap.
Qualifications
3-4 years management consulting experience; 1-2 years at a high-growth startup preferred but not required.
Currently located in New York, NY or willing to relocate
