System Two Group invests in startups with the world’s most influential companies. We are gearing up to launch a dental technology business to redefine the delivery of oral healthcare in the US. Combining cutting-edge H-IoT with habit-forming design, our product makes better healthcare outcomes relevant, tangible and affordable for users. Backed by one of the world's most recognized Healthcare companies, this startup is well positioned to disrupt the $150bn dental industry.
The Chief Operations Officer (COO) has a high degree of autonomy over the business, overseeing all operations and business activities to ensure they produce the desired results. You will need to be comfortable with working in a fast-paced environment and with a passion for structured strategic thinking, optimizing processes, and building content for user and executive audiences.
The Chief Operating Officer is a cross-functional individual contributor role and a critical lever for us to deliver on our objectives. Working alongside the CEO, the COO will build a strong connective tissue between product and user, working directly with experience and engineering teams across to coordinate and deliver a high-quality product.
What You’ll Do
Build and lead high-caliber team to plan and implement growth strategy (alternatively: and go-to-market strategies)
Build and refine efficient and scalable operational frameworks and processes on annual and quarterly basis
Set, define and drive adoption of OKRs across operations, ensuring their alignment with the key initiatives of the company and our corporate partners.
Coordinate and drive user betas, product launches and rollout roadmap
Provide hands-on support in the planning of deliverables, ensuring understanding and consistency across work streams
Make sure user-facing teams are ready with the information, collateral and processes required to support smooth delivery.
Work with experience and research teams (and in some cases with users directly) to collect, quantify and communicate delivery-related challenges to deepen the understanding of how the product reaches people in the real world.
Manage and guide implementation of a continuous planning and prioritization process, consolidating timelines of the ongoing experimental product development and the delivery of product and service into partners and clients.
Develop processes and tools and share your thought leadership on how to run efficient betas to identify routes to market and opportunities to scale.
Identify and actively build connections with relevant subject matter experts, prospective partners and clients to surface insights, get them excited about what your team is building, and to pave the way for smoother future rollouts.
Take P&L and board responsibility - paying particular attention to our corporate partner
Essential
4+ years of experience in product operations, product development, or an operational role that worked closely with product and engineering teams.
Additional 2+ years of experience in a consumer-facing tech-startup (bonus).
Highly-proactive, extremely organized, self-starter capable of effectively managing multiple workstreams at the same time.
Proven ability to understand high-level strategic ideas and bring them into hands-on implementations and to develop a deep understanding of a complex product and its use cases.
Analytical skills that allow you to dig deep into the data and draw insights from feedback to drive operational improvements.
Ability to synthesize complex ideas and extract the significant nuggets of information relevant to a particular audience.
Track record of strategic story-telling and being able to make compelling arguments to prospective investors, report internally and get the support from senior corporate partners.
Ability to work across global cultures and timezones.
Desirable
Track record of successful grant-capture.
A good understanding of the challenges facing the US healthcare industry and specifically dental insurance.
