So I’m trying something a little different this week - I’ve switched onejob from Mailchimp (mailkimp? mailkeemp? bueller?) to Substack, a startup email newsletter platform that’s making it easier for writers to publish and monetize their work.

It’s your chance to work alongside the CEO at a fast-growing startup (they recently raised money from FirstMark, GGV, Marc Benioff, and others) and work on important projects from team culture to the financial model.
The nitty-gritty
SelfMade is looking for a motivated, smart, and adoptable problem solver who is hungry for exposure to how a business works, and ready to roll up his or her sleeves to tackle any challenge. The COS will work alongside the CEO to create organizational habits and structures that support a thriving company. The COS will proactively support the CEO to work effectively with employees, investors, and external stakeholders.
You will work hand in hand with the CEO to develop our young company’s culture and maintain a productive, high energy office. In addition, you will touch many pieces of the business, including financial planning and analysis, product road-mapping, and fundraising. You would interface closely with product, operations, finance, and growth while reporting directly to the CEO.
YOU
Have worked 2 years as an analyst in a top financial firm or management consulting firm
Love working in a fast-paced environment where you can learn the ins and outs of running a venture funded startup
Are an organizational wiz, have a lot of energy, have a can-do attitude and are generally cheerful and great to be around
Can get your hands dirty but can also think analytically and strategically
Excel with quantitative reasoning and have a proven ability to combine data-driven analytical rigor with strategic thinking to drive insights and influence business decisions
Can maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee information
Are a quick learner and want to be continuously challenged
Want to have a supporting role to enable the executive team do their best work
RESPONSIBILITIES
Own the financial model and aid the CEO in strategic planning and business decisions
Own investor communications, board meeting presentations, and company wide communications
Build team culture by leading weekly all hands meeting, monthly team nights, and new hire on-boarding
Serve as the liaison between the executive team and the staff
Own the daily operations of the office
