The nitty gritty
Porter & Sail is looking an individual with a do-it-all mindset; someone comfortable with diving into any area of the business to contribute to this exciting next stage of the company’s growth.
This individual will operate as an executive facilitator within the team -- leading and managing the company’s growing set of initiatives and large portions of day-to-day operations.
Key responsibilities
Executive oversight:
- Work closely with the executive team to identify strategic outcomes, align on priorities, and provide formal structure to support execution
- Ensure that the teams are communicating, collaborating, and aligning towards common goals
- Act as a senior thought partner and collaborate with the executive team to lead brainstorming & identify solutions to business challenges large and small
- Execute at a nuts-and-bolts level. Manage a variety of long-term, cross-functional projects by leading the internal planning and execution. These often include partnerships, M&A diligence, product-focused exploration, etc
- Provide senior communications support including drafting memos, reports, presentations; includes interactions with board, investors, and key partners
Day-to-Day operations:
- Be culture carrier, ensuring that core values carry across every activity, from product design to hiring
- Ensure all staff issues are addressed properly, efficiently and judiciously, and tracked until resolved
- Support scaling by working with teams to develop growth plans, identify skill and process gaps, and support recruitment efforts
- Manage our network of vendors and external providers, from procurement of services, through execution, delivery, and payment
- Oversee, grow, and train off-shore teams that support the existing set of guest services
- Oversee billing and invoicing processes, and management of AR/AP processes
- Manage outsourced accounting provider to oversee monthly financial close, corporate compliance, and budget and forecasting activities

Requirements include:
- Top-tier degree and/or work experience; MBA a plus
- 5+ years executive level experience in a professional / fast paced startup environment
- Previous client facing advisory roles preferred (banking/consulting/advertising)
- Change management experience (e.g. program/project management)
- Experience with implementing processes related to areas of accounting, finance, compliance a plus
