Let's do it live
Today, we’re bringing you something new - an interview with a founder! Here’s why: it can be difficult to tell from a job description what it’s actually like to work for a company. So instead of guessing, we’re giving you exclusive interviews with people inside the company, so you’ll know a bit more before you apply. Plus, we just think founders are awesome and want to give some under-the-radar ones the attention they deserve.

Client Operations Lead
Why this is a great job
No surprise, we love any company that’s trying to make life better for job-seekers out there. Dover’s approach is novel and they’ve made strong progress to date. This role is a great early seat at a company that could be pretty big.
Interview with the founders
Max Kolysh (CEO), Co-founder
Anvisha Pai, Co-Founder
George Carollo, Co-Founder
If your company becomes a wild success, how will the world be different?
Dover aims to increase the liquidity of the talent marketplace. We want it to be really easy for people to progress in their career, make more money and find work they are excited about. The job search today is a chaotic, haphazard process and only the lucky candidates will find the best position. In a world where Dover is successful, we'll change that :)
What's the most important thing that you're working to figure out right now about your company?
We've crossed meaningful revenue and customer numbers. The next step for us is scaling to 100 customers. We need to solve 2 important things to get there:
Making sure all new customers have a consistent experience — with a combination of product improvements and customer success
Figuring out our go-to-market — our growth has been based on word of mouth so far, and the next step is building out a repeatable engine.
What is your company's culture like? (include a specific example of how this manifests, if possible)
We like to work hard and we enjoy one another's company. One example of this is something we call a "firehouse" which is essentially a week-long work retreat. For the very first one, we brought air mattresses and slept on the floor in our office. The second one was at a nicer location — a big Airbnb on the shores of Emerald Bay at Lake Tahoe. We plan to keep doing these because our product progresses in leaps and bounds, and we really enjoy hanging out with each other.
If the person you hire for this role is successful, what will they have accomplished in the first 6 months?
Help us make meaningful progress on our path to get to 100 customers, and likely step into a leadership role as we hire more on the business side.
What's the most significant reason that someone really talented should choose to work for Dover over another startup?
We've de-risked the core business — Dover is profitable and growing quickly, with great investors on board. Anvisha, Max and George are second-time founders who have gone through the growing pains of startups before.
You can learn a lot more here than you would at another startup at a similar size and stage, because you'd have the freedom to experiment and try ambitious ideas, without having to worry about the many basic issues that startups face like having customers to try new products or worrying about burn rate. We operate in a high trust environment and love collaborating with each other.
