Chief of Staff at Haven
As Haven’s first business hire, you will play an instrumental role in all aspects of our growth and scale. Reporting to our CEO, and working closely with our entire team, you will provide leadership, structure, and execution across a range of initiatives. As a thought partner and extension of the CEO, the Chief of Staff is responsible for establishing key priorities across the organization, planning a path to execution, and overseeing critical initiatives that drive company goals. As a linchpin of the organization, the Chief of Staff must operate and influence at all levels, internally and externally, from the most senior levels of leadership to the most junior level of employees. It is an excellent opportunity for someone who aspires to be a founder or C-level executive at a high-growth startup one day. The role is based in NYC, but flexible during Covid-19.
Responsibilities
Working closely with the CEO, your day-to-day duties will be fluid, and evolve as company priorities change. Some of your key responsibilities will include:
Spearhead and assume day-to-day responsibility for key strategic projects across functions
Be the CEO’s right-hand person, supporting key initiatives and making sure he is able to work on the most important items for the company
Drive company-wide planning and reporting processes
Support the CEO in building the founding team
Represent the CEO in internal and external meetings
Play a key role in fundraising, company strategy, cross-functional initiatives, recruiting, systems building, and more
Ideal Background
2-4+ years of work experience in management consulting, investment banking and/or high-growth startups
Loves building from the ground up vs. just optimizing long-existing processes
Ceaselessly resourceful, with the ability to find creative solutions without a playbook
Extremely comfortable with ambiguity
Good at context switching: you can easily transition between the big picture and tactical execution
Strong project management skills with a desire to bring structure to undefined processes
Natural leader who excels at building relationships with many different types of people
