Senior Director of Program Strategy
Why this is a great job
A mid-senior level role at an impactful non-profit that actually pays pretty well? Seems like a great job to me.
The nitty gritty
Honored ( www.honored.org ) is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization seeking a mission-driven Senior Director of Program Strategy to join our growing organization in Washington, DC.
At Honored, our vision is for every student in the country to have a teacher who believes in them.
We are dedicated to recognizing teachers who have had a life-changing impact on their students. Honored’s innovative platform empowers students and parents to publicly recognize and financially reward the teachers who have made a difference in their lives. Each month, one teacher receives the Honored Award, which includes a $5,000 cash award and a profile by a world-class writer. We also recognize thousands of outstanding teachers on our website through The Honor Roll.
Our theory of change is simple: We give students and families the tools to recognize the educators who are changing students’ lives every day, in turn rewarding those doing extraordinary work in a profession that often goes underappreciated.
About The Position:
The Senior Director of Program Strategy will build, refine, and launch our “Do The Honors” teacher recognition program in schools across the country. This “Honored-in-a-box” toolkit will enable schools to launch their own internal Honored awards encouraging students and parents to publicly recognize great teachers. Do The Honors will weave recognition and appreciation for teachers into the fabric of schools.
The Senior Director will:
Build out fully the Do The Honors program
Launch a beta version in three local schools (public, charter, private)
Work closely with schools as well as community partners to refine and improve the program
Work with our web developers to integrate Do The Honors into Honored’s website
Conceptualize, integrate, and monitor relevant metrics to continually evaluate the program’s impact
Identify and cultivate new school partnerships
Roll out the program nationally!
Develop future programming concepts, including harnessing Honored’s content for teacher recruitment; working with our cohort of Honorees to leverage their talent and influence; and developing other innovative and impactful programming to further Honored’s mission
