Why this is a great job
Join a startup at the very beginning of its journey and work for an experienced, talented exec backed by a firm with a great track record. Plus, what’s a better business to be in than one whose product is addictive, legal, and tastes so gooooood? (brb getting my coffee fix for the morning now)
The nitty gritty
About Truebird
Truebird is a seed stage start-up that sits at the intersection of food & beverage, automation, and real estate.
Backed by AlleyCorp (incubator of MongoDB, Gilt Groupe, Zola, Business Insider and more), our team consists of a small but wildly ambitious team of seasoned entrepreneurs, engineers, and coffee experts from Travelocity, Intent Media, AeroFarms, BioLite, and Black Fox Coffee.
Our mission is to give people an amazing and affordable cup of coffee, wherever they are. Our first step on this journey is to introduce automated micro-cafes that serve incredible espresso drinks with a delightful and engaging experience.
We launched a working prototype, to rave reviews, at New Lab in November, 2018. We’re bringing our V1 product to market this summer, and we’re currently looking for brilliant and creative people to build our product and company with us.
Working at Truebird provides a truly special opportunity to grow a company from the ground up, working alongside a deeply experienced, mature team.
Truebird is currently headquartered at New Lab, a hub for hardware innovation and entrepreneurship in the Brooklyn Navy Yard.
About the role
We are looking for a highly versatile and entrepreneurial person to drive some of our most critical priorities (known and unknown!).
You will report directly to the CEO and gain deep exposure to early-stage company-building across a variety of functions within a fast-growing startup.
Our CEO, Josh Feuerstein, is a seasoned entrepreneur, executive and product leader with a background in strategy, restaurant operations, and technology. Truebird is Josh’s third start-up as a co-founder. His first start-up, Site59, was sold to Travelocity, and his second start-up, Intent, is a profitable, 120-person company with offices in New York City and London.
As one of our earliest employees and a member of our executive team, you will have the opportunity and responsibility to put your own stamp on our evolving company culture.
You should expect to spend 24 months in the role, after which we’ll sit down and talk about the next step in your career. This could be starting your own company, moving into a leadership position within Truebird, or continuing in the CoS role. In any case, we’ll be supportive and help you find the next challenge.
For any prospective entrepreneur or leader, this is a truly special opportunity.
What you’ll do
Wear many hats (it’s a start-up!), driving and assisting with key strategic and business operations initiatives across a variety of functions, collaborating closely with CEO, other company leaders, and external partners and consultants. For example…
Partner with CEO to lead business development, sales, and product discovery efforts with potential customers and partners
Drive our company OKRs (Objectives & Key Results) process
Plan agenda for, and facilitate, weekly exec team meetings
Manage programming for all-staff meetings
Be our Finance lead, working closely with external FP&A and Accounting partners
Be our People/HR lead, working with external PEO and recruiting partners
Develop presentation materials for Board meetings, team meetings and investor pitches
Partner with CEO to raise our Series A in 2020
Help the CEO be the best CEO he can be, including helping prioritize where the CEO should focus his time and helping the CEO keep his finger on the pulse of the company as we grow
About you

You have outstanding execution skills and get things done.
