Chief of Staff/Business Operations Lead
Why this is a great job
This is a company with some good momentum in a deceptively interesting space. The role itself seems well-scoped and primed for somebody who’s ambitious and wants to have a hand in everything.
The nitty gritty
Twine is one of the world’s fastest growing analytics companies. We enable companies to operate better with data - whether that’s hiring faster, reducing turnover, or finding top performers.
We recently launched with one of the strongest customer logo lineups in SaaS, which includes:
We’re backed by founders of billion dollar companies (MuleSoft, MobileIron), thought leaders in people analytics (Adam Grant), and Sand Hill Road VCs - many of whom have remarked we’re the strongest team in their portfolio.
We’re hiring for an ambitious, relentless business generalist who will touch every part of our company and be the right hand to our founder/CEO.
You’ll be the unstoppable force that manages everything from sales to customer success to operations as we bring on our next 1000 customers. We’ll give you as much opportunity as you can handle. This will be a transformational, career-defining choice for you (and for us!) as Twine grows.
What you’ll be doing.
In short: you’ll do whatever it takes to drive Twine’s success. You should feel perfectly comfortable switching between strategic work like developing our 3-year product roadmap and operational work like sourcing 100s of potential customers.
Here are a few things you’d work on in your first year:
Thought partner with our founder/CEO, working together to evolve our fundraising, sales, and product narratives.
Write strategic memos, developed through deep research, on competitors, industry shifts, partners, and more.
Serve as a interim functional leader and take over key initiatives across:
Sales: generating leads, researching prospects, and potentially closing new customers.
Customer success: managing key client accounts, triaging customer requests to engineering, and taking contracts to close through legal and procurement teams.
People & recruiting: developing and executing against our recruiting strategy.
Marketing: building case studies and running customer conferences.
Develop playbooks as you build each function inside of Twine to enable rapid scale.
Run internal operations - whether that means helping coordinating every detail of a team offsite or creating a plan to elevate the culture.
Build and formalize our community of 100s of industry executives, billion-dollar company founders, and industry leaders.

We look for raw talent and potential first - almost everything else can be learned quickly. Here are the key attributes we value in teammates:
You’re intellectually curious, and intellectually humble. You’re not afraid to say, “I don’t know - but I’ll figure it out, fast.”
You are a great writer. We believe clarity of writing reflects clarity of thought. You must be a concise and compelling writer; internal and external communications at Twine rely heavily on the written word.
You never say, “that’s not my job”; you act like an owner - you take responsibility over outcomes. You’re a force of nature that gets the job done no matter what it takes.
You make everyone else on the team better. Your presence, positivity, and drive inspires others to step up their game. You put the company above your own wants.
You’re known for your work ethic. You pride yourself on being one of the hardest-working person most people know.
You’re constantly improving. You know there’s no such thing as perfection, and you’re always pushing yourself (and our company) to be better than you were yesterday.

High velocity: you schedule your day down to every 30 minute block, and can crank through a huge volumes of work because of your organization.
Positive and upbeat! We pride ourselves on being optimistic and always finding a way through any challenge. We also enjoy making other people happy.
You like to win. You don’t want a trophy for effort, you want it for first place.
You’re just good: You’re honest, principled, smart, open to giving/receiving feedback, and focused on doing right for the company and doing right for the customer.
