About the Role
Description:
Along with an established partner in the industry, Newlab Venture Studio has conducted diligence and identified an opportunity to improve the management of dementia and, more specifically, Alzheimer’s Disease. We are looking for an entrepreneur-in-residence to function as the product and project lead for the venture, with the support of our collective team, resources and funding.
Over a six month period, you will be responsible for conducting deep industry/product research, leading development of an MVP and crafting a business case/model for the venture. During this phase you will have access to committed capital, the Newlab team/resources and proprietary insights/network via the support of world-class experts and researchers in the dementia space. Toward the end of this period, you will have the opportunity to pitch for additional internal funding. Depending on progress, you may have the opportunity to join the new venture long-term.
Responsibilities:
Research: conduct market research including customer discovery and user interviews. Act as the voice of the customer. Develop, refine and lead tests to determine feature benefits & value-add within the competitive landscape.
Product: lead the development, testing and iteration of MVPs. Investigate and determine requirements and priorities. Scope and engage required engineering/data/design resources. Communicate product vision to stakeholders.
Set Objectives/Milestones: set key performance metrics to ensure project/product progress. Set and meet deadlines, coordinate across our team.
Strategy: with support from our team, develop and de-risk the business case for the new venture. Develop a growth strategy. Recruit other team members as necessary. Propose a funding round based on progress, runway and a clear budget.
Qualifications:
Deep experience in building new products in or around digital health.
Proven ability to lead a new concept through to product-market fit.
Experience in researching, designing, testing and building a new product.
Proven ability to conduct deep due diligence and market research.
Proven ability to process feedback from multiple groups of stakeholders while owning the vision for a project. Bias toward making data-informed decisions.
Proven ability to recruit new team members and/or advisors.
Proven ability to build consensus and relationships among executives, partners, and employees. Ability to inspire confidence and create trust.
Experience with pricing new products with the support of advisers.
Ability to work under pressure, plan personal workload effectively and delegate successfully.
