About Buffy:
Buffy is a fast-growing D2C home goods startup based in New York.
Launched in December 2017, Buffy has experienced dramatic growth through the success of its flagship product: the Buffy comforter. Buffy’s first product, the sustainable and outrageously comfortable Cloud comforter was made of a natural eucalyptus shell and a fill spun from recycled water bottles. The product has amassed 16K+ reviews with an average score of 4.8 stars, with delighted customers based out of NYC, California and throughout the country clamoring to see more products from Buffy.
What You’ll Do:
Alongside one of the Co-Founders and Senior Director of Strategy, you will:
Lead business-critical product development projects that aim to expand our product line to meet revenue, brand or innovation goals. You’ll own the process right from ideation to launch with the cross-functional support and collaboration of all teams at Buffy. You will identify product opportunities based on deep customer development, market & competitive research and physical product testing and prototyping.
Draw from sales history, financial data, & consumer insights research to evaluate and identify new business opportunities across new channels and distribution partners
Bring structured, analytical and data-driven approaches to support decision-making across other teams in the organisation such as operations, marketing and product development
Deepen our understanding of specific customer personas and how Buffy should approach them, leading to real-life out of home, podcast, direct mail and TV campaign strategies
Lead independent surveying, focus group and product test initiatives targeted at a specific persona or buying group
Who You Are:
You have 3 years of relevant experience at a top-tier management consulting firm
You have top-notch analytical skills and demonstrate the ability to break down complex issues into structured approaches & actionable insights
You are operationally minded and have an appetite for tactical implementation beyond strategic recommendations.
You have experience with consumer insights (e.g. surveys, user interviews, focus groups) - and will passionately advocate for decisions that serve the end user’s experience.
You have stellar interpersonal skills and are able to clearly and credibly present to & problem solve with senior stakeholders and cross-functional audiences.
You are highly detail-oriented and take great pride in your work product.
You thrive in the face of ambiguity and are energized by complex, ever-evolving situations where there is no correct course of action.
You have a “No task too small” mentality and are interested in rolling up your sleeves and getting into the details.
You have a passion for consumer retail, design and disrupting an age-old industries.
