We are hiring a Chief of Staff to support Pillar’s CEO, Alex Schwarzkopf. In this role, you’ll directly support the CEO on all major projects and priorities, and have intimate insight into the core operations of one of a fast growth startup. In this role you will be:
Working directly with the CEO on various projects.
Supporting and building cross-functional relationships with all members of the organization.
Helping set company-wide goals and track their execution.
Communicate project statuses to the C-Suite, while working with team members to ensure deadlines are met
Lead or assist various operational tasks (HR, Legal, Financial).
We are looking for for a CoS who can upward manage and help teach the CEO how to utilize assistance. A successful CoS must be outgoing, confident and will have great interpersonal skills and a sense of humor to work in a fun and fast paced office. The CoS also must be highly motivated, able to work under self-direction and as part of a busy team, highly organized, reliable, able to meet deadlines and have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Responsibilities:
Assist in the on-boarding process for new hires as well as off-boarding of employees.
Organize company retreats and all-hands meetings and assist in building the company culture
Assist CEO with executive recruiting, board meeting prep, investor updates, and business development.
Be a point of contact for several key business partnerships
Understand our core business goals and establish processes or programs to help us move the needle
Communicate project and initiative status to the CEO, removing roadblocks
Serving as both a "facilitator" for the CEO; ensuring the CEO's time is focused on the highest value activities and business issues
Helping the CEO identify items that can be delegated, where time allocation should be changed, etc. and coordinating / managing delegated items
Managing follow ups (communications, action items, and execution) for meetings, partnerships, and key relationships
Supporting CEO on creating key documents (e.g., board communications, internal communications)
Prepping the CEO for critical client or prospect meetings
Qualifications:
Ability to work autonomously, in ambiguous situations with little direction, running towards problems without being asked; solutions-oriented with strong judgment for the right course of action in any given situation.
Must be able to react to time-sensitive matters as well as manage complex, longer-term initiatives. Solid personal organizational skills as well as ability to support others in managing time and priorities.
The consistent ability to remain flexible, calm under pressure and adaptive to change as priorities shift, acting as a model for the CEO and the organization at large
2-4 years of startup experience is highly preferable, however at a minimum you should have experience with C-level executives and project management.
Proficient in the Google suite of applications
